Stanley A. Schumm, Ph.D., P.G.
Dr. Schumm is an internationally recognized geomorphologist who has published over 150 papers and authored several books. His primary experience has been in the investigation and analysis of fluvial systems. He has applied the concepts of geomorphology, fluvial hydraulics and geology to analyze alluvial river form and shape, sediment transport and effects of man-induced changes on river systems. Dr. Schumm was the State of Colorado's primary geomorphology expert in the Colorado Water Division 1 channel maintenance flow reserved water rights litigation , and is currently a member of the State of Colorado's expert team for Water Division 2. He is also involved with the Snake River Basin Adjudication channel maintenance flow claims for both the National Forests and for the Snake River in the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge.
During the past 8 years, Drs. Mussetter, Harvey and Schumm have collaborated on a wide variety of projects involving channel stabilization issues. Their different training and experience provides a diverse, but complimentary, perspective on channel dynamics issues, and thus provides an unparalleled capability for evaluating channel erosion and instability problems and identifying appropriate restoration methods for disturbed channels. Resumes containing more details about the qualifications and experience of MEI's Principals and other key staff members are provided in Attachments A, B, C.
